Gordon is the CEO of AP (Asia) Arisaig’s Singapore licensed fund management entity and co-ordinates the implementation of Arisaig Partners’ strategy with Rebecca. He joined Arisaig in 2012 and has focused on Asian companies throughout his time at Arisaig Partners and was mentored by Lindsay Cooper (Founder) for two years, prior to taking over the leadership of the research process in 2017. For his undergraduate degree, he studied Sociology and Strategic Management at Singapore Management University (SMU). He has since obtained his CFA charter and is a Chartered Accountant in Singapore. Gordon also completed a Master of Information Technology and played an integral part in incorporating data analytics into our research process.

Vatsal joined the Arisaig team in March 2015 from the Boston Consulting Group where he worked in the consumer and healthcare practice areas. He is based at our Mumbai office and his research coverage focusses on the Indian subcontinent. Since June 2023, he has been Arisaig’s Head of Research and works with the Partners to deliver Research Excellence. He manage the research team across offices to meet the needs of all strategies and leads process improvements. Vatsal is a qualified Chartered Accountant and was ranked in the top 50 across India. More recently he has completed the General Management Program from Harvard Business School.

Rebecca is the CEO of Arisaig’s UK entity, Arisaig Partners Research Services, and co-ordinates the implementation of Arisaig Partners’ strategy with Gordon. She joined Arisaig Partners in October 2010 to work on Asia research with a broader mandate to head up our ESG initiatives across the firm. She was based in Singapore from 2010 to 2018 before moving to the London office. Prior to joining Arisaig, Rebecca was an investment analyst at Responsible Research (an independent ESG research house, since acquired by Sustainalytics) and a teacher of Mathematics. She is a graduate of Cambridge University where she studied Natural Sciences, has an MBA from INSEAD and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard.

Desmond was one of the first interns at Arisaig and interned with Gordon before returning to complete his studies at New York University before returning to join the team full-time in 2013. He has worked on researching companies in Asia throughout his time at Arisaig, but has done so from all of our offices in Asia; Singapore, Mumbai and Hong Kong (now closed), before returning to Singapore in 2020. Desmond has led the firm’s research efforts for the Greater China region since 2017. Desmond graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in Economics.

David joined Arisaig in 2010 in Singapore, before moving to Rio de Janeiro in 2011 as part of the Latin America investment team and has been primarily based in London since 2015. David has been leading our research into impact investments since 2018. This built on his previous role as Head of Thematic Research where he led research projects on new disruptive business models in emerging markets. He is a graduate of Oxford and Bristol Universities, with a First Class degree in Hispanic Studies and an MSc in Latin American Studies.
